...I started this day waking up in place looking at the ceiling saying to myself " The day is already great, the words just had to be said". That was the plan. Got ready and headed out the house walking to the front of my complex and I noticed a older man in a van pull up and coast beside me . When he came to a stop I saw he was reaching in his passenger seat(not in a he bout to throw something out the window type of way...but you never know right). Anyway he ended up asking me for a ride to the front and I said why not. I got in and the first thing I noticed was he had on a Korean Veteran hat on. And even though I couldn't wait to ask him how he felt about the NFL players kneeling I chilled and we talked about other things. He told me about for example how when he was younger, white schools would recruit the stars from the black schools. He told me about how he had a big family and he asked me to breakfast and I declined at first. But I changed my mind and went. At this point I done made a whole friend. So we went to Mickey D's. I forgot how we got into it, but we ended up talking about Ice Cube and "The Big 3" and I told him how Cube gives people like me hope of owning major platforms. Anyway we finally talked about the NFL. His response was " I'd never kneel for the national anthem, but I respect peoples right. And it's doesn't matter what they kneeling for its so many injustices you could pick one to kneel for."
Long story short, in times like this it's nice to run into a random nice spirit and can give you good vibes when you or them don't have too. He helped me at a time where I needed new energy in life and he gave me perspective on something going on now from a very creditable and relevant view, Shout out to my new friend...Curtis.
